Short Bio

Rakesh Kumar is among the first officers to join the Competition Commission of India in the year 2010. In his more than 13-year stint at CCI, Shri Kumar has worked in different capacities and in various Divisions of the Commission like Economics, Combinations, Anti-Trust, Secretariat and IT. Thus, he was a part of several teams dealing with the enforcement as well as regulatory activities of the Commission. Currently, he is heading the Anti-Trust 2 Division of the Commission. Shri Kumar has actively participated in various capacity building sessions and advocacy events of the Commission. He has also attended various competition related conferences/ seminars/ training programs within the country and outside India. Prior to joining the Commission, he had worked with the Oriental Bank of Commerce in the Economic Research & Business Planning Department, where his responsibilities included branch-wise performance budgeting, MIS, preparing note on policy implications etc.  Shri Rakesh Kumar is a post graduate in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and has more than 20 years of professional experience.
