BRICS International Competition Conference (BRICS ICC) is an important event under the framework of the BRICS Leader's Meeting. It began with the meeting of the Heads of State of BRICS (then BRIC) countries in Yekaterinburg, Russia, on 16th June 2009. This is the biennial conference, hosted by BRICS competition authorities on rotation basis. The first conference was organised by Russia in September 2009, followed by China, India, South Africa, and Brazil. After 2013, it is after 10 years that the hosting rights of the 8th BRICS ICC 2023 have been handed over to India.

1st BRIC International Competition Conference, 2009
The introductory rendition of the BRICS International Competition Conference was organized by the Federal Anti-monopoly Services, Russia and held on 1-3 September 2009 in Kazan, Russia. Heads of competition authorities from Brazil, Russia, India and China discussed the importance of cooperation for developing well-functioning markets through the ‘Yekaterinburg’ The conference agenda comprised of sessions on the aspects of cartel enforcement, inter-agency cooperation and competition advocacy, to be deliberated upon by representatives of BRIC and other fast-growing economies to evolve useful lessons
2nd BRICS International Competition Conference, 2011
Almost exactly two years after the inaugural meeting in Kazan (Russia), competition agencies from China organised the second BRICS International Competition Conference in Beijing China on September 21-22, 2011. The theme of the conference was "Competition Law Enforcement Against the Backdrop of a Globalized Economy".
The 3rd BRICS International Competition Conference, 2013
The third BRICS International Competition Conference was hosted by the Competition Commission of India in New Delhi during November 21-22, 2013 on behalf of BRICS countries. The theme of the conference was “Competition Enforcement in BRICS Countries: Issues and Challenges”.
The 4th BRICS International Competition Conference, 2015
The 4th BRICS International Competition Conference was held in Durban from 10-13 November 2015. The same was hosted by Competition Commission of the Republic of South Africa following the theme “Competition and Inclusive Growth”.
5th BRICS International Competition Conference, 2017
The 5th edition of the BRICS International Competition Conference was organised by Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica), Brazil and was held in Brasilia from 8 -10 November 2017. The theme of the conference was “Towards a Successful Second Decade of Cooperation”.
The 6th BRICS International Competition Conference, 2019
The 6th BRICS International Competition Conference was organized by the Federal Anti-monopoly Services, Russia and held on 16-19 September 2019 in Moscow, Russia. The theme of the conference was “10 years of cooperation between the BRICS Competition Authorities: results and prospects”.
The 7th BRICS International Competition Conference,2021
The 7th BRICS International Competition Conference was held in China from November 16- 17, 2021.With the theme of “Openness· Competition· Development,” the conference was held online and onsite simultaneously and included the opening ceremony, five sub-forums, four online bilateral discussions, two online memorandum signing ceremonies and the closing ceremony.
